On Wednesday 14 July 2021, our Executive Director Dr Hass Dellal AO attended the launch and unveiling of the Nova Peris OAM statue as part of the ‘Statue for Equality’ project.

The statue of Nova Peris OAM, dual Olympian and the first Aboriginal woman elected to Federal Parliament, is part of a global public art project focused on recognising inspirational woman and is seen as a tangible step towards gender and race equality for Australia.

The Australian Multicultural Foundation is honoured to have had the opportunity to sponsor this event. We are looking forward to the Nova Peris OAM statue serving as a timeless inspiration of excellence to women from all walks of life.
