On Sunday 3 July 2022, Executive Director of the Australian Multicultural Foundation (AMF), Dr Bulent Hass Dellal AO co-hosted, alongside poet Anne M. Carson, the launch of the verse novel Ask No Questions by Eva Collins. The launch event was held at East Melbourne Library. Ask No Questions is a simple yet powerful collection of poetry, detailing Eva and her families migration journey from communist Poland to Melbourne during the Cold War in the late 1950s when Eva was a teenager.
Dr Bulent Hass Dellal said “I found Ask No Questions to be most enlightening, original and great reading and think this would be an invaluable educational resource… this is a very important memoir that makes up part of Australia’s rich migration story.”
Eva is a Melbourne based award-winning photographer, poet and filmmaker. Eva was a finalist in the Olive Cotton and Moran Portrait Awards, and won the Inaugural Nikon Prize (2005). Her photographs are held at the National Portrait Gallery and State Library of Victoria and her poems have appeared in Best Australian Poems, Quadrant, Southerly and Westerly.
