Letters to Australia: Nanchok Chol

I am an emerging artist, curator and writer living on Wurundjeri Country. My multidisciplinary practice aims to amplify identities, stories, culture, and spaces within the community. I draw inspiration from my South Sudanese heritage and upbringing, using digital archives as a medium to document a new interpretation of the past, future and present. I believe that community is the
driving ecosystem that encourages both individual and collective growth which I aim to capture through my artistry.

I am passionate about being of service to community because I have recognised the ways in which community has continued to show up for me through my own life. I feel privileged to have had an opportunity to learn and contribute to CALD communities’ understanding of Mental Health through working within South Sudanese Minds, which is what I’d like to share with you in this space.
