Multicultural Justice Directory

The Multicultural Justice Directory was developed by the Diversity Issues Unit (DIU) of the Victorian Department of Justice and, for the first time, identifies all relevant services and agencies within the Department that could be of relevance to culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities.

It provides a comprehensive list of peak and community based ethno-specific organisations and services working in the provision of welfare/justice advocacy. It will provide a description of the services available and contact details and outlines the availability of bilingual staff and interpreter services.

The Directory will be translated into four community languages: Turkish, Arabic, Vietnamese and Somali. These groups were identified as emerging communities in Victoria that face considerable barriers in accessing Justice services. The Directory was launched on 5th November 2003 by the Attorney-General, Rob Hulls, and is available on-line at www.justice.vic.gov.au/multidirectory
